Extra Credit
Pick one of the following options to submit. Each option is worth 30 points.
A. Research
As mentioned in the lesson, this musical was based on a book by HG Wells. Although it is by no means one of his most famous literary works it is said to be the author's favourite. Do some reasearch into another book written by HG Wells and tell me about it in at least 300 words, there are plenty to choose from!
B. Art
In the story Arthur Kipps wins a massive fortune, blows the lot then wins it back again, although, initially all he wants to do with his vast fortune is buy a banjo! What would you do if you came into a great fortune? Would you buy lots of things, invest it or blow the lot on a lavish expensive holiday? Make me a graphic of some kind to show what you would do with your money. You can use drawing, painting, sculpture, collages, manipulated graphics or any other artistic means you can think of.
C. Musical
Make a video or sound recording of you singing or playing one of the songs from Half a Sixpence. Upload your video to a file sharing website (photobucket) or youtube and include the link in your video/recording. I am looking for effort and interpretation here rather than musical talent (although being able to hold a tune does help!). You can choose any song, you are not restricted by gender. For more information about videos please visit the forum.
As I'm sure many of you will not have heard of this musical before I recommend you search youtube for some of the songs or get hold of a copy of the film if you can.
